There is no intention here to return to the argument of the chicken and the egg.  Insightful analysis teaches that it doesn’t matter. If you believe in finality, you could drink a gallon of beer wasting hours arguing the fine points of creationism, the Biblical Eden, assorted Von Daniken silliness and intelligent design with some bozo you just met in the bar. Bill O’Reilly once blathered, “Sun comes up, sun goes down, tide comes in, tide goes out.” Remember the undergraduates in Donald Sutherland’s class in Animal House ? They sat in stunned contemplation of the idea that our entire known universe might be contained in a single atom on the hind leg of a flea on the ass of a huge beast running on a savannah in a world of enormity beyond our current understanding. If you spend much time considering the philosophical details of Avatar, you’ve missed the point of almost everything that has ever preceded it.  And we aren’t just talking the movies.
